To my fellow ITS gurus, traffic professionals, educators and students,

Greetings from the Transportation Tech team! Welcome to The Accelerator. Today, the transportation industry is at a turning point that has been likened to the invention of the automobile itself. Thanks to hard work and decades of technological advancement, we are at the brink of a transportation network with vastly fewer traffic deaths, enhanced efficiency, and a reduced environmental footprint. And ITS professionals like you make it all possible.

Yet as it is also widely known, there is important work to be done, particularly as it pertains to the ITS workforce. With an increasing demand for skilled ITS professionals, a lack of robust ITS curriculum in universities and trade schools, and generally declining STEM performance among America’s youth, stagnation threatens to hamper what has been tremendous progress thus far.

Let’s do something about it.

As transportation professionals, past, present and future, it’s up to all of us to carry the torch. To keep pushing forward, so what we have created can live up to its full potential and impact society for the better.

At Transportation Tech, we’re devoted to this cause.

Our core mission is to support and advance the development of ITS and connected vehicle professionals across the industry. With our partners, we are working diligently to become a one-stop gateway—an online space where students will come to learn, technicians will come to advance, and educators will come for inspiration and assistance.

We hope you will enjoy following us as we strive to be your go-to online source for ITS and connected vehicle training, resources, and information.

Sincerely,

Ryan Johnsen, Vice President, Transportation Tech
